Meet me, Soniya Panjwani!
We all face challenges, adversities, losses, setbacks and failures in life. These are inevitable. Sometimes we are able to work on these ourselves and there are times when we need outside help to navigate through these difficult times.
Through my experience in therapy I have realized that, it is not easy to seek professional help but I also know it is hard to live with emotional distress. At times we have to choose between the two - continuing to live with emotional distress or seeking professional help.
So choose your ‘hard’ wisely to live a meaningful and purposeful life!
I am a Hong Kong based psychotherapist. People usually reach out to me when they want to become more effective in dealing with their emotions and life situations. They may be dealing with anxiety and stress, depression, isolation, low self-esteem, anger management or relationship issues. I provide an empathetic, safe and non-judgemental environment and believe in creating a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients.
In the initial sessions we discuss challenges you may be facing or areas you want to improve upon. We collaboratively generate goals you would like to achieve and together we prepare a roadmap for you to get better.
I will help you learn problem solving skills to cope with difficult situations and work on unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that may be negatively affecting your feelings and actions.
I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Grief Counselling, Solution Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness to help clients.
